My passion, above all, is Makeup.
From the time I was a little girl and glided on my first tube of lipstick for my dance recital, I immediatley fell in love with the look and feel of makeup. I am constantly seeking ways to improve my skills and expand my knowledge. With 19+ years of experience, I love to learn as much as I can, everyday. I find much fulfillment in making people feel and look their best, or what they perceive as their "best".
Background -
In 2002 I became a licensed Esthetician, in the state of NJ. I began working in Spa's doing facials, makeup and waxing. Wanting to feel more involved in makeup, I applied and was hired as Counter Manager for Prescriptives Cosmetics. I later went on to becoming a Resident Makeup Artist/Skin Care Specialiste for Chanel Cosmetics at Saks NYC. After leaving the city and taking a break to have 2 children, I went back to work at The MAC Store (at The Grove in Shrewsbury, NJ) for the next 4 years, becoming "Show and Teach" certified. I also began facilitating training classes. The demands of retail were interfering with a growing freelance schedule (weddings, events, commercials, TV) pushing me into the tough decision to leave MAC and registering my own business in 2014, MUArtistry by Dayna, which I currently own and operate.
My Style-
My style of makeup would, most likely, be described as fresh, polished, on-trend and glamorous. I love to listen to what my clients are looking for and deliver that look, to the best of my ability. Having worked for Prescriptives, Chanel and MAC cosmetics and also taking various online classes, I continue to keep my artistry up to date.
I have no doubt that doing makeup is exactly what I am meant to do. I could not be any happier with my career path and am confident that my clients feel my passion for the art of makeup, while I’m working on them. I am honored to be a part of any and all of my clients special occasions.
It would be my absolute pleasure to work with you on your wedding day, special event or makeup lesson.
