Makeup has always felt personal to me.

From the first swipe of lipstick before a childhood dance recital, I fell in love with the way makeup could make someone feel. More than two decades later, that feeling is still at the heart of everything I do.

As a professional makeup artist and licensed esthetician, my approach has always been simple: enhance what is already beautiful, never mask it. Whether I’m creating soft, natural makeup or full, polished glamour, I want my clients to still recognize themselves - just beautifully elevated.

MY JOURNEY

My career in beauty began in 2001 when I began esthetics in New Jersey. I started in skincare before moving into cosmetics, working with Prescriptives and later as a Resident Makeup Artist and Skincare Specialist for Chanel at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City.

After taking time away to have my own two children, I returned to the industry with MAC Cosmetics, where I spent four years as an artist, became Show & Teach certified and helped facilitate artist training.

During that time, my freelance career was growing quickly through weddings, special events, commercial and television work. In 2014, I took the leap and created MUArtistry by Dayna.

What began as a passion became the career I couldn't imagine myself without.

I don’t believe in giving every client the same face. I listen to what you want, consider your features, personal style and occasion, and create a look that feels authentically yours.

Trends change. Great makeup should still look beautiful when you look back at your photographs year from now.

WHAT MATTERS MOST

Some of my favorite moments happen before I ever pick up a brush. Taking with a bride on the morning of her wedding, catching up with a longtime client, or meeting someone who’s sitting in my chair for the first time and trusting me with an important day.

Being invited into those moments is something I never take for granted.

After more than two decades in the beauty industry, I still genuinely love what I do. There is nothing better than handing someone the mirror and watching her face light up.
